How CCTB tech diplomas are a pathway for Provincial Nominee Program?

International students looking to migrate to Canada have been given even more incentive to do so recently.

International students looking to migrate to Canada have been given even more incentive to do so recently. The Canadian government, in its endeavor to boost permanent residency and attract more international students, has put several plans in place. The aim is to target 431,645 permanent residents in 2022 to fill the shortage of skilled labour in the Canadian market.

The  British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is one of the initiatives designed to address the growing skill gap in the tech sector. Students with expertise in the technology sector, who hold a Canadian diploma or degree, can make use of this program.

The Canadian College of Technology and Business (CCTB) offers six new tech-oriented diploma programs to prepare students for skilled job roles in Canada. These CCTB diplomas are excellent pathways for students who are looking to benefit from the British Columbia PNP program.

What is the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program?

The federal government launched the B.C. PNP program as a result of the 2015 Canada-British Columbia Immigration Agreement (CBCIA). This provincial nominee program allocates a certain number of annual nominations to British Columbia and targets international graduates and workers who have the skills and education to work in high-demand sectors.

A crucial eligibility requirement for the provincial nominee program is that you must be committed to living and working in British Columbia. The skill gap in Canada is a pressing issue highlighted in a poll conducted by KPMG, showing that 80% of business owners require skilled and digital-savvy workers.

This makes British Columbia PNP beneficial for everyone, as individuals get to thrive in the Canadian business landscape, while the country benefits from more skilled labour.
