Throughout this one-year post-secondary diploma, you will develop skills that are critical to running business operations efficiently and effectively including marketing, finance, organizational behavior, and business strategy.
Program Description
In this program students will Identify and understand the techniques and theories of successful businesses, including how to manage finance, fundamental principles of marketing and how to create effective business strategies. This program will facilitate the development the necessary skills and knowledge to make an impact in the workplace, such as understanding the relationships between businesses and different local, national, and global environments. Students will learn to apply cognitive and problem-solving skills to improve communication skills and operate effectively individually and as part of an executive team. The real-world business skills acquired in this program will prepare students to successfully enter the Canadian labour market as capable business professionals.

This program can be taken in either a work and study (73 Week) delivery format or a fast-track (52 Week) delivery format.
Work Experience
The co-op work experience placement represents 50% of the total program duration (960 hours). You will get the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills within the industry through a guaranteed paid work experience.

Completion of an ESL Pathway Program

Studying the Business Administration program will provide you with the skills that you can take into many different roles. Some roles you could consider after your finish the program include:
• Business Manager: These managers will often be in charge of one department in a company and will ensure that all business objectives are being met.
• Project Administration Officer: A Project Officer is responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish. The job role involves developing and managing strategies for projects that will eventually contribute to the business’ overall success.
• Administration Officer: As an Administration Officer, you will be the point of contact for all employees within the organization. You will also be responsible for providing administrative support and managing employees’ queries.
• Officer Services Coordinator: As an officer in an organization, you will coordinate the various departments, creates schedules and manage other supervising staff members.
• Financial Administrator: A Financial Administrator is hired to organize the finances of an organization. In addition, financial planners take care of the savings and investments of a company and assist in financial decision-making in order to reach the desired goals and maximize profits.
• Human Resources Administrator: These administrators develop, put into place and manage HR policies and plans. You will be in charge of people in an organization in a way to help their business gain a competitive advantage.
• Business Services Officer: Similar to a project officer, business officers provide administrative and project support to particular departments and functions within an organization.

Work Experience Policy
This policy applies to all students who are enrolled in CCTB programs that offer a work experience component (e.g., practicum or co-op).
The work experience is a required part of Business Administration with Co-op (BAWS) in which the student obtains practical skills relevant to the learning objectives of the program.

The Canadian College of Technology and Business, the student, and the host organization will enter into a written agreement (the Work-Term Agreement) detailing each party’s responsibilities and the activities the student will undertake during the work experience. A copy of the Work-Term Agreement will be provided to the student before the start date of the work experience.
