Additional details about application and enrolment deadlines

 

Deadline Details:

  • Application Deadline: This is the last day to submit new applications from international students outside of Canada who do not have a Study Permit/Student Visa. Admissions will no longer process new applications for the intake after this date. All applications received after this date will be processed for the following intake. Applications with Study Permits/Visa Approvals are not affected by the Overseas/Onshore Application Deadlines.
  • Overseas C/LOA Deadline: This is the last day for students to fulfil basic requirements for a given intake. Past this deadline, students who have not paid their deposit or signed the contract will be asked to defer to a future intake. This deferral counts towards the CCTB Enrolment Date Change Policy. This is also the date that the academic schedule will be finalized and distributed to students.
  • Onshore Application Deadline*: This is the last day for to submit new applications for international
    applicants in Canada who do not have a Study Permit*. Applications with Study Permits/Visa
    Approvals are not affected by the Overseas/Onshore Application Deadlines.
    * This also includes applicants who are US Citizens/US Permanent Residents, residents of Greenland or St. Pierre and Miquelon, and Ukrainian citizens holding CUAET permits.
  • Orientation Days: Students are required to attend orientation in person. Students must make travel arrangements to land in Canada before orientation.
  • Visa Approval/SABC Deadline: Students who do not provide visa approvals by this date will be
    encouraged to defer to a future intake. This is the last day for students to arrive in Canada and attend the first course in person. This is also the last day for domestic students to submit their StudentAid BC application if they are applying for student loans before program start date.
  • Intake Start Date: This is the official start of the intake. First day of classes may vary between
    programs. Students are responsible for checking their schedules on Canvas for their first day of class. Students enrolled past this date will be required to attend the first course asynchronously.
  • Last Day to Register/Arrive in CA: This is our final registration/arrival date. Students will be enrolled
    in the first module asynchronously between Visa Approval Deadline and Last Day to Register. This is
    the last day for students with CLOAs to fulfil their admissions and registration requirements.

Requirements to Register:

  • Final Letter of Acceptance
    • Conditional Letters of Acceptance are only valid until the last day of registration
  • Full payment of Tuition Deposit
    • Students with outstanding deposits after the registration deadline will be removed
  • Evidence of Health Insurance Coverage (BC MSP for domestic students; GuardMe for first 90 days for international students)
  • Attendance to Orientation in-person
    • For those who cannot attend in-person, a valid flight ticket with arrival post-orientation must be presented to Student Services
    • For those who cannot attend in-person, completion of Online Orientation Course on CANVAS is mandatory.
  • International Students – One of the following documents is required:
    • Study Permit with more than 90 days’ validity after intake start date
      • Confirmation of study permit extension if validity is fewer than 90 days
    • Work Permit* with more than 90 days’ validity after intake start date, AND
      • Valid work permit that was issued on or before 07 June 2023
      • A letter from IRCC allowing full-time studies with a work permit
      • Confirmation of study permit application if work permit validity is fewer than 90 days
    • Port-of-Entry Letter of Introduction/Canada Visa Stamp are only valid until last day of registration.
    • All students must have a valid Study/Work Permit by the Registration Deadline.
  • Domestic (Canadian) Students – Valid evidence of Canadian citizenship/permanent residence/Refugee claim approval which consists of one of the following:
    • Canadian Birth Certificate
    • Canadian Passport (coloured scanned copy)
    • Citizenship Certificate (coloured scanned copy of both sides)
    • PR Card/Confirmation of Permanent Residence
    • Refugee claim approval/Notice of decision/Refugee Protection Claimant Document
      • SABC: StudentAid BC Appendix 3 approval required for student loan applicants

*Temporary public policy allowing foreign workers to study without a study permit until 27 June 2026
